Your Personal Manifesto For Protecting Your Peace
Over the last 5 days during the power pause, you have been creating a new map to navigate stress with; from a place of deeper self-awareness, with greater clarity of what your needs are, knowing what boundaries need to be in place to protect the time and the activities that resource you, and you have gathered some ideas of in the moment self-regulation tools that help to de-escalate a situation.
Today is about putting it all together into your Personal Peace Manifesto. I want you to take your insights from the previous 4 days and write it as a manifesto, so that you can remind yourself why and how you are making these changes.
(See the PDF for a different way of putting it all together. Write as many answers as you feel you need to.)
Why do you want to change your response to stress? Refer back to your answers from the intro section:
“Responding to stress differently means that/represents/is important because…..”
Reminding yourself HOW stress shows up. Refer back to Day 1, (what causes you to be stressed and how does it physically shows up) please write your version of the following statement:
”X causes me to feel X, I know this because it feels like X in my body.”
Remind yourself why it’s important to you to feel resourced. Refer back to day 2 for resourcing activities :
”The activities that resource me in different ways are X. When I take time to do X, the things that cause me to feel stressed, don’t affect me as intensely.”
Remind yourself what helps you in the moment. Refer to day 3 for self regulation activities:
“When I feel X this is my moment to pause. I need to X to bring me back into a responsive state.”
Remind yourself of your needs and boundaries. Refer to day 4.
”I can not show up full force, full power/with integrity if my needs are not met. I need to protect my time to do X because of my need to feel X.
Make the commitment to yourself.
”I am worthy of feeling X. No one is going to intuit what I need. If I know what I need I can make it happen or ask for support to make it happen. I am allowed to prioritise my needs. I deserve to feel resourced and supported. If I feel better, it will positively impact all domains of my life.
